On a recent business trip to Singapore I was blown away by the thriving food scene. From the opulence of Ku De Ta at the top of the spectacular Marina Bay Sands, where the dessert buffet is enough to make Bryan Mayers drop to his knees and offer a silent thank you skywards, to eating on plastic chairs with our fingers in Little India, Singapore has food of astonishing variety and quality.
The cooking pots are rich with diversity; the Chinese, Malay and Indian influence is reflected in a vibrant food scene. Other personal favourites included steamed crab, pork and chilli dumplings at Din Thai Fung; chilli, crab, cheese fries at Loof (yes indeed!) and Snickerdoodles at Marble Slab Creamery. Our next trip can’t come soon enough! Oh and did I mention my sideline? Ah Sam Cold Drink Stall – it’s doing very well!
